Foot Strengthening for Dancing in Heels
Short Foot
In a seated position place your foot on the floor and try to elevate your arch. Think about if a string was pulling your foot up from the middle of the top of your foot. The big toe should remain pressing flat into the ground, do not let it lift or curl your toes.
(Perform 30 sec in each side)
Short foot in standing
.Short foot in standing – In a standing position put one heel in front of the other and perform your arch lift on the front foot. Make sure you are standing next to a standing object to support your balance.
(Perform 15 sec hold/ 15 reps in each side)
Short foot in standing on one leg
Stand on one leg, if you can hold a resistant band for extra challenge. Perform the exercise on the standing leg, hold the arch lift, you can either hold contract relax.
